SPEECH – Christopher Howard – “Touring to the city where no roads go: …“ – Abstract

During his speech, Howard, explored how the performative, consumptive practices and narratives of travelers reveal broader socio-historical and recent cultural trends with regard to touring, modernization and global mobility. He talked about what authenticity played a role during his research instead of the history of authenticity. He also argued about the authenticity is changing from object & existential to relational & performative authenticity.
