SPEECH – Kaya Blarry – “Transiting with the environment an exploration of traveler’s reorientations as creative and collaborative practice” – Abstract

The role of embodiment. Transition as a collaborative process.
We are transmitting with, rather than simply consuming environments. Which allows sustainable tourism practices.

1. Decomposing the environment.
2. Reorienting the environment. moves with us as we transmit through it
3. Reorienting with the environment.

Two studies conducted: in Nepal and Iceland.
Tourists come with preconceived notions, then try to reorient themselves through everyday actions. in the end, tourists can begin to feel theses moments of reorientation as a collaborative recompose ion of/with the environment.
