From August 1st until August 12th, the second “Summer Academy on Intercultural Experience” takes place at Karlshochschule International University in Karlsruhe. As last year this Summer Academy has been well-organized together with the AFS Exchange Service of Germany.
For Karlshochschule it is an excellent occasion to put emphasis once more on the development of students’ skills in practices, intercultural experiences, intensive academic work, methods and personal strengths.
All courses include workshop sessions with complementary theoretical and practical content offered by four academic facultys and 12 AFS-trainers. Facultys and trainers with a broad diversity of professional qualifications support the team teaching units.
Within the two weeks, the following one-week classes are featured:
- Intercultural Communication
- Intercultural Project Management
- Cultures and Conflicts
- Intercultural Conflict Management
- Multicultural Teamwork
- Multicultural Society
The 53 participants are coming from the following countries: Argentina, Armenia, Belarus, China, Iran, Solvenien, Armenia, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, Egypt, France, Belgium, Germany, Hungary, India, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, South Korea, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine.
In addition, several excursions and evening lectures enable the participants to get further insights to intercultural issues and understanding the German and European culture.
