How to make studying much easier
Autor: Admin am 22.03.2010The organic way of thinking
Have you ever had a problem remembering all the relevant information in order to pass your examinations? Well, Tony Buzan, author of the book “Mind maps for Business”, had this problem when he went to university, and that is where the history of mind mapping began.
First of all, the idea of visualizing emerged when Tony Buzan was revising for exams at university. He realized that he could reduce the volume of his notes to one tenth by finding key words and key ideas for each topic. Using an image in the centre, he started to create organic diagrams, linking words and ideas. The brain doesn’t think in lists, but in networks, so visualizing helps to create pictures in your head and, furthermore, sharpen your photographic memory.
In the book he points out an example of a business university in Mexico that offers mind map classes for their students, which they have to attend – otherwise they can’t graduate.
Maybe we should think about such classes at Karlshochschule. We’re sure that we all would benefit from them.
So go ahead, visualize your thoughts and don’t forget to think positively! ;-)
